Council will consider 1st, 2nd and 3rd readings of Zoning – Amendment BylawNo. 3222 (1700 Cumberland Road) at the May 13, 2026, regular Council meeting.In accordance with sections 464 (3) of the Local Government Act, the City mustnot hold a public hearing when the sole purpose of a zoning bylaw is to permita development that is consistent with the Official Community Plan and that is atleast half residential by area.
The purpose of the bylaw is to rezone 1700 Cumberland Road to Manufactured Home Residential Zone 3 (MH-3). The property’s land uses were previously regulated through a site-specific land use contract, which has now been terminated in accordance with Section 547 of the Local Government Act. The MH-3 zone will allow the manufactured home use that was previously allowed through the land use contract to continue and could permit additional manufactured dwelling unitsin accordance with other MH-3 zoning requirements.
